The TKFGB held its 2025 Awards ceremony on Saturday, January 10th in Boston, Lincolnshire, hosted by TKA Boston. Around 100 members of the traditional karate community gathered for the occasion, including competitors, coaches, judges, and parents from across the federation. The event was further distinguished by the attendance of the Mayor of Boston, Barrie Pierpoint, and his deputy Patricia Marson, underscoring the significance of traditional karate-do within the local community.
The ceremony was led by Sensei Zbigniew Godzisz, supported by vice-chairmen Andrzej Czyrka and PaweÅ‚ Kutermankiewicz, celebrating excellence across multiple dimensions of traditional karate practice. The pinnacle achievement was Adriana Peiseniece being named TKFGB Athlete of the Year 2025, recognizing a remarkable three-year streak of sustained excellence at the highest level. Her 2025 performance was particularly outstanding on the European stage, capturing five medals at the ITKF European Championship in Serbia – including gold in the prestigious Fukugo (combined kata and kumite), gold in kumite individual, silver in kumite individual, and bronze medals in both en-bu and team kata. She also earned two silver medals at the WTKU European Championship in Slovenia.
Awards honored not only competitive achievement but the entire ecosystem that makes excellence possible: dedicated coaches who develop talent, qualified judges achieving internationally recognized categories (Class A, B, and C), tireless organizers who create opportunities, the parents whose unwavering support makes it all possible, and the competitors themselves whose commitment, effort, and determination embody the spirit of karate-do.
Full results and details of all awards are available in the attached presentation.
